Support Program for Protected Areas

Georgia
KfW, 2014 - 2019

The overall objective of the Support Program for Protected Areas in the Caucasus (SPPA) stands on two equally important pillars:

  1. The improvement of natural resources and protected area management of the selected Protected Areas (PAs) without negatively affecting the livelihoods of the rural population in the long term.
  2. The improvement of the socio-economic situation of adjacent rural communities without depletion of the natural resource base and biodiversity.

GFA B.I.S. Services

GFA B.I.S., together with Dr. Schindler Geo Consult International (GCI), was commissioned by GFA Consulting Group to implement a Monitoring & Evaluation System for the management of infrastructure investments, called TRIPLE I. The system covers various aspects of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) as well as operation and maintenance. It provides an efficient tool to monitor, document and visualize data. Furthermore it builds a suitable basis for the monitoring and evaluation of projects and investments as well as future maintenance and operation. Aside from pure input of technical, financial and spatial information all relevant documents can be uploaded. External data can also be integrated through interfaces. The system is based on leading open source modules and comes without any license costs.
